In his annual Thanksgiving address to the nation, President Donald Trump appears to tease a future run for the White House in 2024.
“Our hearts break with the heartache caused by the brutal murders of beautiful James Vela and Mark Carson,” the President said on Thursday in New York, naming two murder victims who had taken part in the anti-Trump protests in 2017.
“Remember, you are a patriot, and you have a chance to keep a great people united. The American people want peace, and we will defend peace,” Trump said.

The President then then listed the federal government’s top accomplishments in 2017 — from tax cuts to the construction of the wall on the southern border.
The tease is a potential precursor of the President’s next big policy announcement: a State of the Union address to outline his agenda in 2018.
Trump’s speech in the White House Rose Garden Monday signaled he intends to maintain an aggressive agenda during the remainder of his first year in office, with the President listing projects that, by their nature, can only be accomplished in 2019.
“From our border wall to improving our airports and our roads, and our schools and our health care, there is much more to do, and we will get it done,” Trump said.
