Leeds band The Reklaws are going down to Birmingham to take part in the South East Music Awards (SEMA) for the first time.
To mark the occasion, the band are keen to raise awareness for the good work of National Literacy Trust and is staging a free London show at The Boiler Shop on the weekend of 14/15 June.
The Reklaws have created their own quiz show, ‘Catch a Rip’, which will be on stage with, between 7pm-8pm.
“We came up with the idea after noticing that there was an empty gap in our band’s gigs on the LCDO stage. We wanted to fill that space with a quiz show which would see our band mates struggling to answer certain trivia questions. If they are right the questions are answered by us, if they are wrong our partner stops the game. We’re so much better than the average quiz show and we hope to make some people laugh and think. We also want to challenge people on a new form of entertainment, so what better time to start than with the South East Music Awards,” says lead singer Jamie.
The Reklaws will perform at The Boiler Shop in Shoreditch, London on Saturday 14/Sunday 15 June. Entry is free and free tickets are available from NationalLiteracyTrust.org.uk
